Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes

Waving Hello!

Profile Shot

First Head Shot
Spencer and I got to spend some quality time with our newest little man yesterday.  We know that he has two kidneys, we've seen the blood flow through all four ventricles of his heart, and I've gotten visual confirmation that he is indeed a mover and a shaker! It was a very sweet experience and I'm so happy he's on his way.  Spencer and I had said that if we could pick the sex we would like a boy.  It almost doesn't seem right to say something like that does it?  To have three healthy, smart, and beautiful children seems like it's too good to be true; but then to want to add another healthy boy to the mix, just to even things out, seems like too much to ask!  Regardless, we somehow got what we've always dreamed of, and it feels even better than we hoped.  We walked out of the drs. office admiring his beautiful mouth; he has Spencer and Anna's lips.  We noted his perfectly long jaw line, thank you Grandma Tammy, and saw his slightly turned up nose - just like Kate, Adam, and I.  He's ours and we knew it as soon as we saw his little head.

*The kids were thrilled to see pictures of the new baby, but Anna yelled, "creepy!"  when she saw the last shot. :)

*Just to keep this post grounded in what is our up and down life, we came home to find that Adam has Fifth Disease (a virus) that is only dangerous to unborn fetuses.  Our littlest man has made it through the most risky bit, but it was still a reminder to treasure the truly light-hearted and beautiful moments that happen in life - because something heavy is usually waiting for us at home :)

Congratulations!., That is so amazing. He looks perfect!

What are you going to do to make sure you don't get Fifth Disease so baby doesn't get it? Is there anything you can do?

Not a thing we can do. Either I had it earlier in life and am immune, or the baby got it, and is one of the lucky ones who doesn't miscarry from anemia. He is very healthy though, so our odds are REALLY good.
