While Spencer was off on his annual man trip the kids and I went up to my Momma's house. One of my favorite moments of this segment of the trip was watching my Mom set up the Clemens Olympics. These Olympic games were always my favorite Family Home Evening activities growing up, and watching my kids complete one of my Mom's courses felt really satisfying. I don't remember any indoor fake trees from my own childhood, but there was always a laundry basket nearby that you had to climb in and out of, I'm glad some things never change!
While the girls raced around the room Adam cracked me up by going to town on these Rock Band drums, he would yell - BAM BAM BAM as loud as he could and somehow knew instinctively that he was allowed to whack the drums as hard as a two year old can possibly hit anything. I also love his wide stance, he knew he was going to need to balance as he put all his body weight into his drum solo!
Grandma also took the kids to Boondocks; a Utah powerhouse of go-carts, bumper boats, arcades, laser tag, bowling, etc. This is something I have never taken the kids to do before, they thought it was all pretty exciting.

| Anna immediately after she realized she wasn't old enough to drive the go-cart, it's hard being the 2nd child. |
Something that I don't ever want to forget, that I didn't happen to capture on camera, was Adam's reaction to my Dad. Adam has only seen my Dad on three different occasions; but somehow they were instant buddies. My Dad comes walking into his kitchen wearing his cycling gear, he had just got back from a ride, and Adam ran across the great room yelling, Grandma! Grandma! Hi Grandma! And jumps into his arms. Throughout our brief stay at their house my Dad was sensitive to Adam's little boy needs and would often take him outside to kick a soccer ball or look at bicycles in the garage.

Oh, I love boys and their grandpas.
Also, Noah had that same face when he found out he couldn't drive the go-karts in Albuquerque. So hard!
im so sad we didn't overlap in utah! that would have been awesome to see you guys. and seriously, i think isaac and adam would be such great little buddies.
