Spring Break

Here's a play list of our play list so far.

Monday:

The kids and Spencer got up extremely early to bike twenty miles to see a reenactment of the "shot heard round the world" at the Lexington Green.  They all came back tired and happy (I was dropping neighbors at the airport - not sipping hot cocoa).

Later that day I led a caravan of moms and kids (lots of the dads had to work, even after the reenactment) to the beach.  All of us were turned away from one beach because there was no more available parking.  It was a holiday (Patriot's Day), and it was 90 degrees.  I was afraid we weren't going to get into any beaches that day as the next beach we tried had a line for parking that seemed to go on forever.  By this time it was getting ugly with potty breaks, nursing breaks, one kid threw up - yada yada yada.  I think we all were uttering quiet prayers that we'd just make it through. So I turned the car around to avoid the traffic and stumbled upon some locals only type beach.  We pulled over and found the coolest little river that led into the ocean.  We all played for hours, it kind of reminded me of this tide pool area next to the Malibu pier.  This will be our new favorite spot as there was plenty of street parking, parking at the beaches here is crazy - $25 a pop.  It was the save of the season.

Tuesday:

The girls were invited to a birthday party of puns.  They thought they were going to a fairy tea party. Turns out they went to a ferry t party.  The T is our local subway.

Wednesday:

We've passed this park a hundred times and always wanted to stop.  We finally did it!  The parking is terrible as it's right along the Charles River, but the background was awesome with sailboats passing by! The first video is of Kate on a zip-line pushed by my good friend Jaimee.  The second picture is of Anna scaling a tower, I had turned my back and next thing you know she's at the top.

Later this same day we went to a Discovery Museum that was housed in a renovated Victorian, so very New England right?    Kate moved right into Bessie's Diner and got right to work.

Adam's reaction to this particular exhibit was consistently cute, he's yelling - "cool, cool, cool!".

Today the kids are going to a concert and we're going to take it a bit slower than yesterday.  But I promise to post any cuteness we might come across.

That beach terribleness was totally worth it. It looks amazing. Also, my friend from Rhode Island buys her beach pass in like February and it's $15 for the entire season. Could you find something like that for next year?

The sailboats also make the terrible parking worth it. I love a sailboat.

25 dollars for parking???? That should be illegal :( But looks like you guys found a way better place and had tons of fun during spring break :)
