Here I Go Again

School has really really started.  It feels like such a stark contrast to the summer schedule.  I think it might be amplified by the weather, it's only 60 degrees today, so it feels more like fall.

School has brought some interesting changes.  Kate has a lot more homework this year and I have not caught on yet.  I think about lessons and piano practice and fun and play dates when she gets home, I haven't quite figured out how to fit her homework in, but we'll get there.  Kate has always enjoyed listening to books on CD, but lately I have had a hard time getting her to stop reading.  It's really fun, she has totally turned some sort of corner.  I asked her what her favorite book was yesterday, she said, "The Giraffe, the Pelly, and Me".  It's by Roald Dahl and I like it too.  I go to the library without her every week for Adam's story time, so I have to pick out her books for her, I usually pick out mysteries as she seems to consistently like them.

Lately Anna has had far too much going on.  She loves her pre-school class, but everything else seems to push her over the edge.  Next year I think we'll take the month off of piano and we won't sign up for any other lessons/classes till she has adjusted.  Kindergarten is full day here, so that will probably be enough to send Anna down for a nap everyday!  I think she won't need OT by next year, so that will be one less concern :)  For down time Anna has been killing it on some math apps - she has a natural sense of numbers having value, I think it's funny how doing math is calming for her, but was totally anxiety inducing for me for most of my life.

Adam is a total crack up.  This morning he came up to me and said, "I can't get it out".  And was pulling at his footie pajamas that he wore for the first time last night.  I assumed he meant his feet, so I unzipped his pajamas and found a hammer.  Yesterday I tried something new with him.  He has no bum, and long narrow legs, just like Spencer and Kate.  This added to the fact that most 2T pants seem meant to be worn with a diaper, which he doesn't wear, and his pants are ALWAYS falling off.  So I pulled out some of his baby clothes and found some pants (3-6 months) for him to wear as shorts.  They worked!  This discovery might help us make it through till I find some skinny jeans for his skinny self.  Because his pants so easily come off, he often decides to take them off as a signal to me that he "need go to restroom Mom!".  He'll do this at the park, at the beach, at the library, and why not.  He has learned another trick.  Spencer would say Adam is a breast man.  Sometimes I'll be holding him and he stick his hand down my shirt.  I've taken to telling him, "that's Mommy's private chest" or something else really stupid.  So when we were at Costco and I was holding him, he decides to yell, "I want to touch your privates" as I am pulling his hand out of my shirt. Kind of embarrassing.  A few days ago he was in the dress up bin and put on some necklaces and a scarf and announced, "I the princess" as he strutted into the room.   He also really likes to show off his clothes, he found a patch of a motorcycle on his shirt and told everyone he met that day all about it.  He's pretty fun right now.

Spencer took the picture below of me two Sundays ago, I was 24 weeks then.  I am mostly posting this picture because I really don't care for the one with the sundae I blogged a few weeks ago.  I think it's interesting how much bigger I look today, and also what a difference standing up straight makes, most of the time I am more lazy and I look a lot more pregnant with bad posture.

Spencer is off canoeing with some youth from our church.  They are on the Charles River and I am a bit jealous.  He got up early to power wash our front porch and the playset, they're looking good.  I know you're dying to see the progress.

Adam's exclamation has me laughing out loud. So funny!

I've had to make adjustments for Noah as well. All day kindergarten is a beast. I wish I could get him into some OT, he really needs it...but Gallup doesn't have it. Ugh.

I keep forgetting you're pregnant. So pretty!

We have Dots 4 Tots which is a great one, Princess Math, Splash Math, and K 12 Coins. She also uses Art of Glow to practice handwriting
