A Little Bit of This, A Little Bit of That

1. I signed up for a half-marathon.  I was doing fine on my training, until I hit mile 7.  Turns out I have plantar fasciatis.  Anyway, I had to scale back the mileage and I didn't run the half.  The race was last week and my friend who did run picked up my packet which included a t-shirt.  So not only do I now own a t-shirt that I didn't really earn, it also has TWIN LIGHTS written horizontally on the chest.  I'm thinking this shirt will never be worn in public.

2. My sister Natalie recently visited.  We had a blast and I'm sad she's gone.  While she was unpacking she showed me these two tank tops and said, "aren't these so cute?".  I looked at them and thought, how in the world would she fit in them.  So I just said, "I like the stripes" or something.  She looked a little disappointed, and them promptly gave them to my girls;  WHOOPS!

3. Spencer made me this delicious trifle for Mother's Day - he's a champ.

4. Camping at Nickerson State Park.  It was awesome.  Anna called s'mores, snores the whole time.

5. A little pond we found not far from our camp site; the water was clear and warm and the kids had a blast while Natalie and Spencer talked health policy research; speaking of snores. :)  I spent most of the time digging out fishing hooks from the used bates that Adam would bring me.

Oh the marathoning friend of mine. You're all crazy! :)

Trifle. Yum.

I'm dying over the snores. So funny.

How was it camping with the kids? I have a romantic notion of it and sort of want to do it until I start thinking more realistically about some of the details.

We had a great time with the kids. They slept like champs, we did not. But as long as they are happy everybody is a lot better off. We took Adam's port-a-crib and the girls slept on pads and sleeping bags. I think camping with kids is intimidating because it can go REALLY bad. But it's always okay to drive your screaming child away in the middle of the night, you wouldn't be the first.

Hello my guys - Andrea you look beautiful in the mother's day pic. I love your hair that way - so pretty. Anyway, that is a beautiful triffle, but I of course am wondering if it has any whipping cream???? I am so curious as I cannot see any...I always love my whipping cream ya know. Sounds like a fun campout time w/ all the fam. Do you have a tent? I haven't sent you a mother's day present yet, and I do have one for you. I will get it out to you when I can stand to go to the post office again. I know - I have a strong phobia about post offices and packages. Here's a good one. I got a package in the mail the other day and the box was wedged in so tightly that I could not retrieve it...finally I got my keys and opened the end of it and got the contents out -- Yummy cashews that Marcie gets on Amazon.com...who would think they have cashews? Marcie has introduced me to them....I owe her big time!

Love, Grandmeremere Nancy Pants
