It Happened, It Finally Happened
I remember as a child standing in a galley kitchen in Kansas City and my parents discussing what we were going to do that day. My Dad said, "maybe we could get p-i-z-z-a?". I yelled "pizza!" and my parents looked shocked that I had broken their secret code. Well today Spencer and I's code was broken. We too were discussing our day, this time at the breakfast table, when Spencer spelled m-o-v-i-e. Busted. Proud, but busted.

Hi Andrea - if it makes you feel better, Dad (Jerry) and I were still spelling things when Spencer and Meredith were probably teenagers! We just got in the habit and it was hard to break.....of course they always knew the words even when they couldn't spell -- must have been the context of all the other words surrounding it that weren't spelled out!
Thanks a good way for them to learn how to spell...\\Love Nancy
