There is a cross country track near our home and in order to celebrate our first New England Winter we decided to make a visit. Spencer, Kate, and Anna all took lessons while I chased Adam around the park. Everybody agreed that the first day was hard, but they were all smiles. I think I'd like it a lot, I've only x-country skied once before; but since I'm not crazy about speed and do love a good workout, it sounds like a perfect fit.
It was a very pretty, very windy day. At one point Kate would have totally fallen down, but I'm certain the wind held her up. Adam braved the wind for about an hour before I could tell he had had enough.
I like the following picture because it shows both girls on their bums, Kate is actually flat on her back. There was a LOT of falling, but they both stuck it out and tried hard; which I think is terribly important.

How fun!! I would love to try this :) and you live in a beautiful place!!! Your children are adorable and to be persistant on top of that...well there's the icing :)
the bottom pic is great... i love how tough your kids are!
from Lorena: Fun! I can't wait till my kids are old enough to do stuff like that with me.
XC skiing is pretty great...like most good things it just gets more fun the more you do it and learn.
My sister-in-law LOVES Cross Country skiing. I'm not sure I can imagine anything worse. Our ward youth went skiing this past weekend and Dave had to go. He took a lesson but it was awful for him and I felt so bad, but he at least kept trying...even though he was completely miserable and totally mad.
