Grateful

1. We're not going to Utah for Christmas; this is a first.  It's our first Jones Christmas solo.  I expected to miss the big traditional Christmas' that both our families throw.  When I opened Christmas card after Christmas card I smiled a lot.  When we got presents from both our Mother's I was excited.  When we got presents from the cousins, I teared up a bit.  When my little sister Natalie sent me a painting she did for us (top right) and lip gloss for my stocking I cried.  (My Mom is very well groomed and our stockings are always full of chap sticks and lotions and nail kits - etc.)  It's the details I tell you.

2.  I mentioned to Spencer that I miss hearing music while I work in the kitchen.  When he got home he made sure to put his ipad w/ Pandora playing next to the kitchen.

3.  My s-i-l, Meredith, makes gift tags on her Letter Press every Christmas.  We got some in the mail today.

4.  Anna is reading.  Just BOB books, but still I'm excited.  I'm grateful for highly capable children. Along these same lines Spencer and I got to see Kate in her Winter Concert at school today.  Her class also put on a play, she was the mouse.  I told her this morning that I would paint some whiskers on her face.  When I got to the school I realized that I had forgotten my make-up which I was going to use as face paint.  I ran home (literally) and got back to the school in plenty of time, but totally out of breath.  I walked around trying to calm my beating heart thinking that maybe this was excessive.  However when I walked in her class room and pulled her to the side to paint her face she glowed.  Everyone thought she was adorable, and she was.  She tried hard and did a good job in both productions.

5.  I am especially grateful to know that these very important relationships I have with people I love can be eternal. I am grateful for my Savior who allows me to love others more fully.

you are totally inspiring me in so many ways : ) first adam and potty training, and now anna and reading. did you buy the bob books and are helping her with it? or is that something she's learning in joy school (isn't that what you guys are doing?)? anyways, i'd also like to make a formal request for more information on that too.
