Come on and Take a Free Ride

I took the kids downtown to the Science Museum by myself today; funny how I'm feeling like I really accomplished something.  We rode the commuter rail into downtown, took a shuttle from the train station, and had a great time at the museum.  They have a Discovery Center there that is staffed by some local nerds who did a great job explaining the different exhibits to my children.  I think Kate has really grown up a lot lately in that she loves talking to other adults and doesn't appear to be inhibited by the possibility of being wrong.  Even Anna let a nice older man teach her how to be a boat engineer - she made a canoe out of tin foil that was able to support five plastic turtles - what a feat!  My favorite part was the location of the museum.  We walked along the banks of the Charles River, and saw a lot of the same sites we were recently introduced to on a Duck Tour - which made me feel more like I live here; which is currently an important feeling to me.

Hurray for you! Acclimating to a new place is so hard. These are the kinds of things that help, or so I've heard.

i LOVED the duck boat tour when i was there! PLEASE post pics of your beautiful kids and expeditions! Today sounded wonderful!

And thanks for your comment on my blog... I have been impressed by Kipp and how much he has loved having Eliza in the office and watching her grow. He's even asked to hold her at times. He was calmer in the office than he's ever been... can't say the same for how he treated me via emails and such, but I am grateful for him letting me do it for a year!

I think it would feel very liberating to make such a trek. The museum sounds very interesting and I want to go there, NOW. I am so proud of you and your girls. Love the pic of Adam in the sandbox too.

Andrea - you are one brave gal - 3 kids all by yourself...but they are so soooo good. Maybe Tammy and I can come back and leave the men home! Sounds fun.
