A Real Treat

Yesterday Kate came home with a fantastic portfolio she had accumulated over the school year in her art classes at school.  Her teacher even helped her construct a portfolio case.  I will show you pictures to document the extreme cuteness.  Each piece has a lesson summary typed up and taped to the back which explains how the creation taught an art history lesson.  I know!  It's so great!  As you can probably see from the pictures there is a Mondrian Collage, a Kandinsky inspired set of circles, a project on linear design where they talked about serapes, african inspired pieces, a take on Jasper Johns American flags, and it goes on from there.  This present appeals to two sides of me; the art loving side and the purger.  I love to get rid of stuff, but because these pieces are already organized in a fantastic folder I can just keep the whole thing, and possibly make a salon inspired exhibit on her new bedroom wall.

Isaac's kindergarten teacher did that for us too, in a bound book! You know, like plastic binding things. I love it! Such a good way to keep their art. But his isn't nearly as good as Kate's. Wow!
