One Busy Month

I'm going to lay it all out on the line.  Here's what we've been up to.  Anna had a birthday, she's 3, she's awesome.  She wanted to go to Legoland, we obliged.  Here's a picture to prove it.

The girls went to a production of Pinkalicious.  This book is a big hit around these parts, and thanks to Sarah, the girls all had matching cupcake shirts (an important element of the story) to make the event extra special.  Everyone at the theatre thought that it was an excellent idea, it was.

We went to Palm Springs to crash  my in-laws vacation; we do things like that.  It's probably hard being related to us, or being friends with us.  We'll mooch everytime :)  We had a blast visiting with them, hanging out at the pool, and watching the Super Bowl.  One of the best parts about going to Palm Springs is driving past the huge wind farms on the way.  I'm told these wind mills are three hundred feet tall with the propeller arms being one hundred feet long, it really is a marvel.

Anna started swim lessons, I loved them as much as she did.  I have very strong feelings about children and swimming - there is no such thing as childhood without swimming.  Here you can note that she is wearing a shark fin, flippers, and what they called breathing gloves.  This was her second day and they were trying to help her feel what it is like to be up on top of the water.  She no longer needs these accouterments, but aren't they something?

Kate has also started swim lessons, she loves them.  She is more interested in the sociality of her lessons than anything, but she gives them the old college try and is coming along swimmingly.

I was finally able to observe approximately 7 minutes of Kate's ballet class.  This picture is the best one I got, sad but true.  I love her ballet classes, they are very classical and I'm impressed with the respect that she has developed for Ballet.

Adam, Spencer and I went to Boston.  Kate and Anna stayed at home with my Mom and sister Natalie.  Boston was rad, and cold. While there we accidentally walked through a reenactment of the Boston Massacre, this has never happened to me before.   Here we have a picture of Adam next to a frog statue at the frog pond in Boston Gardens. Boston Gardens is the oldest public park in the great US of A.  *Note, this is the most clothing Adam has ever worn.

Happy boy enjoying being the only child around!

After we got back from Boston we went to Las Vegas with some of our old college buddies; it was a great trip.     We took the whole family to the BYU game on Saturday, it seems we picked the wrong day to attend, as BYU did not come out victorious - but it was still a good time.  The house we rented with our friends had a pool, a slightly older pool.  I don't know if it was the pipes or the chemicals added to the water, but Kate's hair went GREEN.  When I was little my hair was also green from swimming, they called me the Green Marine.  I somehow feel like Kate has paid a necessary blonde toll and is all the better for it.  As a result, she was also the lucky recipient of a haircut.

March Madness has hit our house in many forms.   Reza, Christy, and Hal were just with us yesterday to watch BYU break their record and win a second game in the tourney.  Here is a picture of our boys doing some manly bonding during a pregame walk.  Yes they are passing a flower back and forth to each other, and I loved it.

Kate also participated in the jog-a-thon at her school.  She ran like a pro, and even did a few laps with her sister.

Whew! I'm never getting behind on blogging again, it's exhausting. Thanks for hanging in with me :)

I wrote a comment but something happened to it. I will try again...loved anna in the swimming gear (I can't spell accrouterments) That really cracked me up. Kate w/ green hair - probably very attractive on her....she could have some green eggs and ham along w/ it. Little Adam is very handsome and looks like he was into some warm clothes...I am checking out the thrift store for you tomorrow.

Love, Grandma Nancy

We should have invited you! We're idiots! I think Sunny should get an honorary LBC appointment!
