I used the rice cooker for the first time last night and it was pretty great. Yes, you can cook rice on the stove top, but when you make rice at least four times a week, the rice cooker is the way to go. It won't burn, you don't have to babysit it, when you pull it from the cooker it's warm, and your not using valuable stove top space. Although our stove is very cool, see here, on occasion only two burners will light. It is very easy to have three pots going at a time, so now I can rest easy knowing that dinner will come together with a few less hassles.
Blendtec. Oh how I love you. This morning I mixed up a lovely concoction of coconut water, raw chocolate, frozen strawberries, and beet leaves, oh and some agave. We make hummus in it quite regularly, soups, it grinds nuts into butter if you let it, it's pretty amazing,.

Funny thing is, I don't have a microwave. We have very little counter space and there is just no room for even such a handy tool. What kitchen tool do you love?

I'm a big fan of the refridgerator. Don't know what I'd do without it!
we are rice cooker fans too...especially when your husband won't eat a meal without it. I made pasta one night and Lyle was like where is the rice...plus we like the sticky rice...must be the Japanese :)
PS love the recipe for a shake you had up here...mind sharing more like it??
Andrea, Can you please email me your address for a Christmas card! Thanks!

i dont know what i'd do without our rice cooker. cooking rice on the stove seems quite intimidating to me. we like mixing japanese white rice with brown rice in the cooker so its a little healthier but we still get the yummy taste. but really, how do you survive without a microwave???
ps- that is one good looking hot chocolate maker you have

YOU DON'T HAVE A MICROWAVE? Yes, I'm yelling. That's just insanity, sister Jones. It is. Blendtec! Awesome. Although next time, leave out the beets. Who are you, Dwight Schrute?
Rice cooker, you say? I may have to look into that. Me? I'm fond of the popcorn popper.
Oh man...I got a blendtec for mothers day last year and I have used it over 600 times. I love it...I love that my girls love MOST of what I make in it. The possibilities are endless. I'm glad you love your, too!
