Drivel?

1.  I went to my doctor appointment on Friday (it was 6 days from my due date) and they schedule me for appts. on my due date and then 8 days later, they don't seem to have too much faith in me :(
No news except a very healthy baby boy, who will be the size of a barge by the time he arrives!

2. I am at my weight gain goal, I've significantly cut back on the treats - back to just one a day!  Hopefully I can maintain where I'm at, think positive thoughts for me.

3.Our camera is broken, a bad week to not have a camera.

4. My ward just finished a 60 day challenge to read the entire Book of Mormon.  I'm amazed at the difference completing this challenge has made in our home.  Seriously, I've seen stumbling blocks that I've been working on for years turn into stepping stones right before my eyes; I feel really blessed.

5.  Yesterday Spencer and I went to the Adamson House in Malibu and I remembered this part of me that has been put on a back burner.  I LOVE architecture and art history and interior design.  It was so fun to learn about the tile that fills this home and the history of the area.  It doesn't hurt that the home is built right along tide pools that as a family we've played in many times.  By the way, what you think is a rug in this picture is actually tile work, true artists.

6.  Does it surprise you what pulls at your heart strings?  The BP oil spill has really upset me, the idea that people have created something that they can't control has really occupied a lot of my thoughts.  It's the sort of thing that I can't stop thinking about and can't articulate well enough why it's disturbed me so much.

we were talking about the bp spill the other day to and how ridiculous it seems that we have the technology to build it but not the technology to stop it. weird. it is also weird to me that we can put organs from one body to another, but can't deal with cancer. science is weird.

PS she is very impressed that you are teaching Kate words other than just angry to express what she is feeling :: she said that maybe you can teach her too ;)

Here's hoping to a fixed camera (or a NEW ONE, SHEESH! no broken cameras when new babies are born!) and a broken water before your due date!

P.S. I totally thought that was a rug.

Hi Andrea - is the countdown on? I keep thinking we will get a phone call anytime saying....guess what - he came all on his own and HE IS HERE!! When I come to Calif. I need to see that house w/ the fab. tile rug. That looks so amazing. I really want to go there, but this time might not be the right time. Keep us posted on any events....Love Grandma Nancy
